Marcelle Stroud

Marcelle Stroud on Vocals

Marcelle is an effervescent and versatile vocalist, performing with personality that draws the audience into feeling like they are a part of the performance!

From rock to blues, from theatre to jazz, this gal can deliver! Described by Ray Lewis of The Drifters and Paul Young as ‘the voice of the night’ during a performance at The Dingwalls Club, Camden.

Marcelle has provided backing vocals for Alistair Griffin, recorded lead vocals with Danny Willson and Tim Brown (Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash) and has guested with Robin Bibi Band and Never The Bride. Her dream job is working with the Foo Fighters…or Shirley Bassey…or both!

Marcelle’s current session projects include working on an original release with virtuoso pianist Mike Garson (David Bowie). She has trained in jazz with Anita Wardell, and is currently vocally coached by Nikki Lamborn of Never The Bride.

Frazer Wigg

Frazer has played keyboards and piano for many bands including Southern Nights, Desperate Dan, Mo, Indigo, Nigel Bagge Band, Paul Cox, Mad Max, Fish Band and Catfish Kings.

He has toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe and Ireland backing artists such as Chris Farlowe, Buddy Whittington, Miller Anderson and from the U.S.A, Charles Walker, Lou Pride, and Johnny Jones.

Frazer has also enjoyed a successful career in recording and arrangement.

Louise Maggs
Lead Guitar

Louise Maggs on Lead Guitar

Louise has enjoyed playing in various hard working bands over the years, from jazz to ska, soul, funk and blues.

She has played alongside some of the classic artists, including Bobby Wellins, Derrick Morgan and Little Jimmy Reed.

Louise also works for charity ‘Wishing Well,’ collaborating with classically trained musicians to deliver music in healthcare.

Nigel Ball
Bass Guitar/Vocals

Nigel Ball on Bass Guitar and Backing Vocals

In addition to a successful solo career spanning four decades, Nigel has worked as bass guitarist and backing vocalist with award winning artists including Rolan Bolan (son of Marc Bolan from T-Rex), Loz Netto (Sniff ‘n’ The Tears/Driver’s Seat/Atlantic Records), Bex Marshall (British Blues Awards Winner 2013), Will Johns (British Blues Awards Winner 2011) and multi-platinum producer Dito Godwin (Motley Crue/No Doubt/Gwen Stefani/Ace Frehley of Kiss).

A professional performer with touring credits over four continents, Nigel now works as a freelance producer and audio engineer and runs his own independent record label, Mutz Nutz Records.

Jay Sturland

Jay Sturland on Drums and Vocals

Jay has over 30 years experience playing music. He’s played with Herbie Flowers (David Bowie), Sam Brown (Stop!) and a host of other fantastic musicians throughout his career.

With a technical feel and a style likened to Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix Experience), Jay now brings his flair and humour to Double Cookin’
